Ocular Motor Cranial Nerve Palsy
Park Jae-Han

Abstract
Eye movement commands are carried from the cerebral cortex and higher brainstem structures to the ocular motor nerve nuclei. These commands are then sent to the individual extraocular muscles by cranial nerves III, IV, and VI. Eye related symptoms of peripheral ocular muscle palsies can be observed in the case of the isolated lesion of the ocular motor cranial nerves. The clinical picture depends on whether the functional impairment is localized in the intraorbital or the intracranial segment. In this paper, the clinical symptoms and cause of ocular motor cranial nerve palsies are reviewed and discussed.
